Hi. Im looking at getting a new tripod. I have around £130 to spend. Thats including the head. Id like one thats going to be rugged but also light. Cheers.
Something I'd like to know too. Having looked at e.g. Manfrotto, there seem to be a whole wealth of heads, gear heads and tripods,
Cheers
Something I'd like to know too. Having looked at e.g. Manfrotto, there seem to be a whole wealth of heads, three way heads, ball heads, gear heads and tripods, it's all a bit bewildering!
Obviously if you're sticking a huge, heavy lens(and camera) combo on it, then I guess you'd pay more?
As far as I'm concerned (not wishing to hijack your thread!) is something about the value above that is light and will support a 40D and zoom (300mm at most).
Cheers
GEAR HEAD!!! sorry im immature
Have a look at redsnapper.
I've just bought one and for the price I am well impressed.
I was going to get a Manfrotto but it's supports 5kg whereas the Redsnapper supports 10kg.
Also, if you are member of talkphotography, Redsnapper will give you a 10% discount![]()
I bought the Manfrotto 190xprob and 804RC2 head.
Aren't Redsnappers just rebranded Velbons?
Let me know how you find it - both that and the Redsnapper mentioned earlier seem like the sort of thing I'm after.
First impressions. Its heavy. a lot heavier than i would have liked. but, this reflects on the quality. Its the BMW's of build quality. Materials feel very nice and well made. first impressions good!
Nah they're chinese re-brands IIRC ... I searched for a long time for where they were coming from when I was first looking at them.I just thought that since Redsnapper import Velbons, and since they look identical in every picture...
