Anyone suggest me a helicopter game

Black Shark will be very good, Eagle Dynamics are pro's at what they do and with no bullying publisher (Ubi) they have all the time they want to create a product that works straight from the box.

DCS is a very intesting product line, maybe them moving towards a digital battlefield. I see no reason why they cant add say a T-80 or Tunguska etc to be player controlled. Possiblitys are endless :D

From what I've read on the internet, DCS have been branching into the serious military simulation world over the past couple of years developing classroom based training aids (eg. aircraft radar simulation) and used the BS engine for mult platform training packages.

It would be exciting if they sub-contracted a smaller group to develop more heli's or aircraft (need a decent EF2000 sim after Rage/DiD's botched job) and release them at intervals.

Alternatively, someone develop a working combat engine to co-exist with FSX.

The annoying thing is that the military world are excited about Microsoft releasing an API for FSX to integrate the FSX engine, DX10 technology and parts of the Vista OS to provide a modern day open-architecture platform for today's increasing simulation world. MS are trying to bridge the gulf over compatibility issues between simulation hardware (Image Generators, Motion Controllers, Cockpit Simulation Interfaces, etc) and the software (real-time database generators, 3D model creators, proprietary systems simulator software, malfunction simulation, Wide Area multi-platform Integration, communications simulation, audio, visual controls, target projection, etc).

- A very complicated mess, especially when each of the described systems are independantly contracted to support a single system.

Do you need anything special to get it running on an XP machine?

I seem to remember that it wouldn't run if there was more than 2Gb memory on a machine... is this still the case?

Another awesome game was TEAM APACHE. I dont know how good it *really* was but I remember playing it when I was a bit younger and used to love it. We used to have some Saitek controller where the missile button has a piece of plastic over it which you had to remove to shoot. Damn I felt cool when I killed someone doing that

I wish my saitek was like that, but sounds similar... however, I had to flip the cover into place to enable the "sunken" button to be pressed... i'd much rather have preferred it the way yours was.

no room on my desk for a HOTAS now :(
