I found a brand new one of these in my garage that i think i had couple of years ago on three but then never used it and just used the sim think...

Anyhow if i put in a working three sim it either says no network coverage or inactive usim......

If three have deactivated it or something on there network can i flash it or some thing to use on other networks as it seems a shame to waste a brand new phone...??

If it can be flashed and debranded so its like sim free phone what sort of money am i looking at as i dont really want to pay a lot for a old phone thats outdated tbh....

Cheers all and i hope you understand me..

My local shop charged £15 to debrand/sim free my k800i

Had to leave it with them overnight to be sent somewhere or other. probably took it some where else that does it for a fiver LOL

is that what needs to be done with my one then? if so £15 isnt to bad.

I mean the phone was never used so it didnt have to be "activated" or something did it?

can i do it myself with the leads that are in the box?

Just had a look online and davinci want nearly £40 for a debrand and unlock! bleeders its only £8 for debrand.

what way round should one do it?

I took mine to a shop as i have no idea what software or owt i needed.
Simpler and took less time than looking it all up. Plus i'd probably break it :)

True dat, davinci used to be really cheap, only cost me a tenner to flash my 750i to an 800i a couple years ago, now they want £40+, robbing buggers!

If there is no network coverage or it reports inactive usim it means that that sim card has been deactivated. A phone can't be activated or deactivated, they just work. The phone will be locked to the 3 network and will be branded with their firmware.

The sim is 100%ok as its a brand new sim with a number on i ported over and it works just fine in my kaiser....

im trying to us xs++ for the debranding but i just cant get it to detect the phone....

I used davinci to unlock a 3 k800i a while back as it happens, to give to my mum, lol.

Cost about 6 quid i think and was extremely easy.

if you google about you can do it yourself for free with the data cable that it comes with. did one a while back. its a bit of a chew on mind so paying 6quid using davinci might be a better idea

see my post above they now want silly money for a unlock, making it unpracticle

I cant even get the thing to flash when i hold down c and plug in usb cable even with the proper SE update centre program...

Maybe this phone has been laying about to long:(

bit the bullet and payed for 1 credit with wotanserver and now the wotan client wont open just keeps crashing!

edit just tryed it on another machine and the same.......

Blimey this making things hard!

well i just used xs++ to flash the firmware with K800_R1CB001_MAIN_GENERIC_RED52.mbn

but the phone still has all the three screensavers and planet 3 button am i missing something?

I thought that should have debranded it?

The main menu is different how ever?? but it still has that darn planet 3 button not to mention it still wont work with the three sim i have

i had a right carry on with all that too. the three branding just wouldnt dissapear.

in the end i used xs and flashed it with some k810i firmware. then used some sim lock code generator thing that made a file for unlocking that firmware and phone so i could use it on any network. it was all rather complicated !!!

was following guides for it all and dont remember the full details. all ive got left is a folder full of the programs i used. spent about 4 hours i think doh. must have flashed the phone about 30 times lol. was still glad it saved me 20quid that the shop wanted though :p

I don't know what 3 charge to unlock their phone, but T-Mobile only charge 15 quid (requested the code just now) so unless you need to unlock it urgently, it might be better to get the network to send you the unlock code.
