Is Oblivion on Vista still a no go?

hi all a while back i bought oblivion which i wanted to play on Vista, as i had it on my Xbox 360 and loved it.
i then discovered that it wouldnt run very well on vista and the character would move around either very slow or fast cant remember which just rememeber it was unplayable.
also searching via google it appeared that lots of other ppl were having this same problem when using vista
6-8 months down the line has a patch been released to solve this or is there a workaround as the game is sit on my shelf collecting dust for no reason.

I would try it again and patch it up completely, it runs without problems on my Vista x64 install?

I've played a lot of Oblivion on Vista with no problems. Using latest patch with Qarl's Texture pack and the unofficial Oblivion patch.

I actually never tried that, but i have been having problems replaying Oblivion, as i have had with most RPGs, once i know a lot of the plot and the world it doesn't really interest me that much unfortunately. Same problem with Morrowind which was an awesome game too.

I never had a problem with it on Vista. Havent played it for many hours though.

For some reason the official patch doesent install for me and keeps coming up with errors regarding textures, this happens on clean installs and everything.

Run as administrator

well i have reinstalled it with the unoffical patches and the problems i had previously have gone so im pleased

i have also installed shivering isles and the knights of nine how do i play these expansions do i have top complete elder scolls first

belive me im not making this up 6-8 months back i have major issues where the movement was extremley slow and jerky which made it unplayable! if you search on google there were many ppl with this same issue when playing on vista the only different thing now 6 months down the line is i have SP1 installed now

Oblivion seemed to run better on Vista than XP for me, strange ?
