Hi,
I want to overclock my Q6600 Go stepping as much as possible. Im stressing with prime 95 for about 10 minutes and temps on stock are 50, 50, 47, 48 on water cooling.

According to core temp VID: 1.2625v whether i am stressing or not.
CPU-Z says Core Voltage: 1.184v when i am stressing.

I am using P45 Deluxe.

My question is what voltages to use and how far i should overclock for safe temps.

Tbh that's a question only you can answer as every chip is different. Try to keep load temps below 75c.

One thing I would advise with the P5Q-Deluxe is to take the PLL, FSB Term and Northbridge voltages off Auto and set them to the 2nd lowest manual setting (eg- 1.52v, 1.22v etc) as the board overvolts by a large ammount when set to auto or the very lowest manual setting. Also set your memory to 0.08v lower than it needs as the board overvolts the memory by that much.

From personal experience, you should hopefully be able to get to ~3.0Ghz before the CPU voltage needs to be increased from stock. :)

3.6ghz without voltage change

I have got to 3.6 ghz without changing the voltage!!!!!!!

Think its stable, 15 mins on prime95

As i have not changed the voltage from stock should is auto ok.

As a comparison, i'm at 3.6 @ 1.53v with water cooling. It could go further by my 6400 ram doesnt like being overclocked.

What does CPU-Z say the voltage is? Auto may have set it very high.

If your CPU Voltage is on Auto that means it will have increased because the mobo will alter it for you? Or am I confused? I just can't see 3.6Ghz on stock voltages... but hey, it's nice to be surprised!

I'd prefer to set the value manually. Can you try entering the stock voltage manually and see if it works at 3.6Ghz then please?

I think stock is like 1.2v or 1.24v... can't remember now.

EDIT: Too slow. Cob beat me to it! :p

1.424 when priming
1.408 when idle

By the way i also disabled C1E and SPEEDSTEP in the bios which stops the multiplier reducing from x9 to x6 on idle. Apparently it unlocks more overclocking potential. I didnt want to do that becasue i thought it might not cool as sufficiently, but when i overclocked it kept jumping from 6 to 9 on idle!!! so i disabled SPEEDSPTEP and C1E.

i read somewhere that the core temps are about 15 deg higher than cpu temp, does that mean my temps would be safe at 85 on core temp to get 70 cpu temp????

Watercooling at the mo

are those voltages ok, should i set them to that in the bios.

I would see how it fairs in Prime95 on auto. 1.425v under load in Windows is probably around 1.5v in BIOS (due to vdrop and vdroop). Once you've finished running Prime95 you can try to work out which BIOS voltage really equates to the 1.425v you are seeing now.

The Q6600 is safe up to about 95c as read with Core Temp, but I wouldn't try to get anywhere near that high (ofcourse the machine will shutdown before any damage can occur).
