Hello all,

Me and the missus want a weekend away somewhere in the countryside just to proper relax for a weekend. Really chillout, leave the phones at home kinda thing.

Where do you suggest? I'll be driving so travelling isn't an issue.

Theres a few nice places in Devon which are nice for relaxing, especially when the suns out

Can't remember the name of where i went now though, will run off to google...

(not quite countryside though)

I just got back Saturday from a week in the lakes. I always find it easy to unwind there.

North devon. Go to a place called berynabour. Can't get much more relaxing and beautiful than that! Also, ilfracomb, is quite packed most of the time and not a relaxing place, but thats just my opinion, wollocomb beach, is nice, go smack in the middle, you got the dunes to lay out on, or go dip your feet in the sea.

Berrynabor :)

Come down to Isle of Wright, find a decent B&B (Oaklands is a great one, she's a very friendly host and the room is top notch for the money paid) Relax down at the beach, explore the little island on foot / public bus. Don't drive around, safe fuel and extra tension of driving.

Appledore is quite nice if not a little boring, i nearly bought a house there

Yea its really nice for a holiday when you just want to relax, i doubt i could spend anything more than a week there, and the week i was there i was just lucky it was nice and sunny :D

Though i still cant remember if it was Ilfracombe or Appledore i stayed, i stayed at one and visited the other :p

Appledore is tiny, with tiny little houses and a pub called the Beaver :D

Illfracombe is nice and pretty but full of Scousers :/

You can walk through Appledore in about 4 minutes :p
