My new car!

What interior goodies did it come with? I've driven a rental lower specced new shape Leon and just went :(

Are you sure it's not pink though? I should probably make it pink :p

I originally wanted it in a nice baby pink, but unfortunately Seat didn't do that colour. :(

Its a bit nicer inside the FRs than the lower ones. You get nice FR sports seats and steering wheel. I've got heated/electric seats, wing mirrors etc, rain sensitive wipers, dual zone climate control, mp3 cd player, cruise control etc.. Oh and 3 cup holders! :D

The diesel version or the petrol ?

Anyhow I love both, especially the mental torque from the diesel. Spent 4 weeks driving these constantly round an airfield, and was my favourite overall car out of merc, seat, VW, chrysler (not hard), and those stupid french peugots.

Interior was a little plastiky for me, but it was functional and well built. As I said awesome engines, and handled well.

:D:D:D

I went for the 2.0 TDI 170bhp.. I do quite a few miles at work and so diesel is a bit more economical. I also like the way diesels drive, being used to my current TDCi. They're also a lot cheaper to tax and insure than the petrol version which uses the GTi engine!

They are not a lot cheaper to tax at all. They are noisy, shakey and unrefined. A diesel makes a car a utility vehicle in most cases. And thats a very expensive utility vehicle. Stop trying to dress it up as personal preference.

fox is on his usual warpath against diesel.....

anyway.. I really like the car mate.. looks very good, i hope you enjoy it!

Yeh that was who I meant when I said it would be slated in my original post! :)

Car tax is £75 more for the petrol version and also the insurance is much higher, especially in the area I live.

The insurance is much higher becuase the performance is much higher though, surely you can see that? It just seems like a lot of money to spend on a diesel hatch, surely a cheap Golf diesel or a Focus or something would do the same job for less.

Good choice, I preferred it overthe petrol even though the petrol is a little quicker.

In most cases it might do, but the diesel FR is more fun than the petrol, especially with the awesome surge of torque it gives. Never failed to put a smile on my face every time I drove one.

It might sound like a chuggy diesel, but I honestly don't care when it goes like it does. Plus you get the increased economy, but I really can't be assed today to calculate savings with regard to fuel costs.

FR TDI for me :D

I've got a Focus TDCi at the moment, but the miles are getting on a bit so I fancied a change. The performance difference isn't that much between the two and I liked the diesel so went for that. :)

Why not get a Derv just for that reason? He uses it all day everyday for work so comfort with economy is the key, yes its a utility but its also a practical choice. :D

People on this board just don't get it when somebody doesn't enrol into the BMW/Mondeo Mafia. ;)

Another day, another bunch of wannabe psychologists making a fool of themselves :p

I just think its a lot of cash to spend on a diesel workhorse thats all. If it was the Cupra I'd not have commented - so there goes your little BMW conspiracy theory. Did you know 70% of mentions of the word BMW on this forum are from people like you? :p

Still, enjoy the car :)
