Hi all

I want to put together a DVD of slide show of pictures (from a wedding) that has music playing in the background, but will play on a dvd (conected to tv) as well as on a pc. (which means power point is out)

does any body have any ideas on any software (or even How to do it just in windows - I use windows Xp although I can get access to a Vista machine if media player is the only way) that will work please

Thanks in advance

Really looking for a windows Xp way of doing it, I can get access to a vista machine, but I will be limited on amount of time on it, because it wont be my own machine.

If there is no other way, then I will have to resort to that, but any XP based ideas anybody?

Windows Movie Maker I think has a function like this. Might mean you need to spend more time on it since I think you may need to add each image individually.

Then you could use a freeware dvd burner or trial.

sure there are a few, but can't think of a freebie :(
Nero, Pinnacle Studio are 2 for starters...

*edit* just looked windows movie maker will do it....

If you're organised beforehand, it'll take minutes. Seriously.

No one's mentioned PhotoStory ? .This is great and free from microsoft .
I have loads of slideshow programs as I have used them for years , ProShow Gold ,Memories on TV , Pics to DVD , etc .but for a freeby PhotoStory is excellent , it will even generate background music for your show too. It save's the finished show as a .wmv so you can play it back from the PC , but if you use something like SonicDVDiT , you can put it straight on to DVD .Works for me for some shows ,but I still like ProShowGold.

well i have all the pics, in named order and i have music ready to go on, so maybe just nipping over a to a friends and using his vista maybe the answer.

Had a look at the trial version of anvsoft one (thanks for the link)

that seems ideal, but ( i know im a skin flint) dont really want to buy it for one dvd and trial one will only let me add 36 pics.

incidentally, I better mention, I did this wedding for free (was actually my wedding present to them as they are close friends) they are paying for the photos to be printed so don't want to be out of pocket if I can help it.

Any way, thank you for the suggestions :)

just as an update, I decided to biute the old bullet and bought DVD photo slideshow pro.

Does exactly what I wanted, And I am am sure I will need it again sometime (he hopes lol)
