Just trying to find out if anyone's recently stayed at Watford Travel Lodge (long shot I know), I've had a bit of a look on Google but can't seem to find any opinions on it? Planning on spending a long weekend there and seeing the famous sights in London.

Not that one, but Travel Lodges are generally carp. Find a Premier Travelinn instead.

London City Hall is the one i've used a lot.

I haven't stayed in that one but I've stayed in another before and I'd be surprised if the one in Watford is any different to the one I stayed in. It'll be a bland soulless place but perfectly warm and comfortable for the basics of sleeping in. If you want somewhere with a bit of character then I'd advise against it, if you just want somewhere to stay then it will be fine. :)

Travelodge is a Travelodge isn't it? Bit like asking which McDonald's restaurant is the best?

Some places you get use of the tv for free, whereas some charge, some charge for extra towels, etc. One I stayed it didn't have the choice of breakfast, you turned up, you slept, you left! :p

Any particular reason why you want to stay at Watford? If you're wanting to go round London then there are 'lodges in town. Some, like the one at Euston even have car parking, though you have to pay - something like £15 a day IIRC which aint' bad.

Theres a Ramada Jarvis in Watford but like others have said, Im sure you could stay a bit closer in to London.

I happen to stay in Watford and my workmate who has stayed there told me its quite nice. Its apparently new, so under 2 years old. Should be fairly decent in that case. Again as everyone says, why would anyone in their right minds want to stay at a hotel in Watford! I live here because of work (on the nice side of town) but other than that I wouldnt wish the place on anyone :P

Not really, it was just close enough to London without being too pricey.

Decided to stay at the Park Inn at £60 a night instead of Travel Lodge.

Go for the one in Covent Garden. Won't need to worry about breakfast etc. as you're 30 seconds from Shaftesbury Avenue which has some awesome cafe's and restaurants on :)

There isn't a nice side of town in Watford!

My girlfriend stayed there recently and said it was alrite, just like any other one across the whole country.

Just not an overly nice place, or rather the people there that make it a not very nice place.

And the small hidden away area is called Croxley!

They're all the same. Travel inn/lodge/premier etc, all exactly the same.

i'll be honest, but no Travel Lodge is all that great, they are 'cheapo' overnight stays where you need something quick or a place the cheap ass company you work for puts you up for the night if you have to stop over someplace...

Used to have to stop all over the UK at one time for work, and I've stopped in a far few of these places, and trust me..... the ones that do offer breakfast... Erm, at your peril... Not the best of places to stay, and some of them as said do charge for towels, one even charged for morning papers, regardless of if you asked for it or not....

Bit annoyed as when I was booking the train, the advance fair disappeared in the process of booking so rather than costing me 53 quid return its now costing 71, bah.
