Insurance with mods

Which companies should i be looking at for a car with mods? So far all i have thought is adrain flux (ran a quick quote for my civic 1.6 with exhaust, manifold, alloys and induction kit and got £800FC). Was maybe thinking giving Sky a ring as well.

Any other suggestions ? Really wonna get my car back on the road asap

I went with Greenlight for the MX5 which had a LOT of serious modifications. FC it came to £450 ish IIRC?

Bell gave what i feel quite a good quote and it gets lower with the 10 month bonus accelerator policy. Are these worth bothering with? Surely as its shorter thus buliding quick no claims it would cost more or is there a catch to it ?

Seems im looking around £800 FC with mods so far

I assume the idea is that there's 2 months less for you to crash when they're the ones insuring you

yeah but its seems a bit odd, alright your paying less cus its 10 months but your getting your no claims quicker. Surely everyone would just do that to build quicket no claims and because its cheaper then bothering with the standard 12 month policy ?

the accelerator bonus is only useable with that company at renewal usually. It's a way to gaurantee business.

Noel Dazely and Chris Knott have been competative for me.

A-Plan as well. Keith Michaels are good, but tend to prefer to insure people experienced at high-performance cars, so they may not be best for you. But they have been good for me.

Nope, the only time you will have problems is when you have morec NCD than years driving.

My renewal last year just said 2yrs NCD.

Ive been having problems getting quotes from other companies due to this... ive got 2years NCB and only 8months experience, i thought buying my Mini and insuring it whilst still on a Provisional and before even learning to drive at all was a good idea at the time, but it makes applying online a hassle and having to explain it over the phone. :rolleyes:

Also, thats a very nice car you have there Mr Dup, wish i had one just like that. :cool:

I did Bell NCD accelerator and had no problems transferring it at all. On the renewal notice it just says "No Claims Discount - 5 years" or whatever.
