Toughest game you've ever played ?

Was just having this discussion with a mate. Whats the hardest game you've played ?

Personally, the original 'Commando's: Behind Enemy Lines' is one which immediately springs to my mind.
 
Far Cry.

Only just started playing it. Playing it on Medium, theres a point at the start where you get to a boat and climb a ladder to get onto the top of it. I just get shot by the chopper before I get to the top. Grenades and rocket launchers are a one hit kill and enemies are everywhere. Might just put it on Easy.
 
That bit's not that hard, just go to the top and then drop down again until it flies away a bit. Take out the gunner and then it's plain sailing.
 
Jet Set Willy 2 on the Spectrum.

If the thing didn't crash because you'd dared to breath near the power lead, then the lack of savegames made sure you pulled your hair out.

1998 it was released, by Eidos. You had a team of commandos during the War, consisting of a Green Beret, Sniper, Sapper and someone else i cant remember.

Was a solid game, but great nonetheless.

Or throw a grenade, I got this from the forum but even without going up the ladder you can kill the heli by throwing a nade into it :).


But erm, Far cry is very hard indeed, especially later ingame, I'm now replaying it on medium and it's terrible even though I'm only halfway through.

iirc on hard, the last few miltary levels of pharaoh were hard to beat, was hard finding a balance between income and strength, I either got wiped out by invaders or got broke as I spent too much on military early on...

Also the last boss in ut2004, very hard to beat even bunny hopping all around he manages to hit me from insane distances ( I can hit him too, but that's not the point, even in mp people just can't hit you when you move around too much and are very far, but this ai had like a target lock on me lol).

Also, some red alert 1, ''no base'' missions are so damn tough...
 
That Far Cry Level is easy, you only have to go to the bottom of the ladder to activate the check point, then back track and jump over the side of the ship into the water. Shoot the chains holding the dinghy from the ground. You can then shoot out the gunner on the helicopter from the ground and swim to the boat and safety :)
 
Any game?

Well it has to be classics, Tomb Raider 1-4 we all puzzles and figuring out how to kill bosses n that, Resident Evil 1-3 we type writers and if u ran out of bullets and herbs you've basically ****ed it and silent hill 1-2 for same reason
