Toughest game you've ever played ?

DFLW...

the only game where the insanely skilled players can actually own aimbots, and flying speed cheats...

you had stats and the learning curve was about 6 months..

the point where you are GOOD is when you have equal KD ratio.. to me that was at 35,000 kills 35,000 deaths after 40 days non stop gaming...

Just picked up a game called Etrian Oddyssey for the DS for a fiver. Its a dungeon based RPG where every single enemy is a tough as nails, not only that but as you explore the dungeons you have to draw your own map. If you forget a bit, get it wrong or just get completely lost...then unlucky.

Needless to say, its pretty damn hard :p

Probably guitar hero =/, I cant do it on expert... Splinter cell was also really hard as said above (I never got far in 1 or 2)

Getting good at Grand Prix Legends took a looooong time.

It was great to get to the point of being able to put 5-10 competitive, fast qualifying style laps in at a time without a mistake, and to be able to start to understand car setups, make a tweak, feel the difference in the car, and see the effect on the lap times.

No other game has come close for me since I dropped out of the GPL scene in 2001 or so.
Indeed GPL is by far the hardest game ever imo.

I think its generally considered you have beat the game with a sub 8 at the ring. Which for a majority of people is simply not do'able no matter how many days/months/years you put into it.

Flashback was pretty irritating to complete though it was possible, old style gameplay was a pain tbh
