4870x2 at ocuk

Yikes , was going to get one but not at that price!

I guess its ATI's turn to be the price gouging gits.

After having my faithfull 8800GTX dying on me just outside of 1 year warranty
I aint ever getting a high end card that does not have at least 2 years warranty on it.

2 Years warranty on the HIS ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 , looks tempting.

I wonder how much the price will drop after 2 weeks ?

Theres no warranty info on the HIS ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 , version.
Does this mean it has no warranty at all ? Or is the webmaster a bit slow today?

It's quite probably OCUK that're gouging more than ATI. Though I guess perhaps they had to pay a bit extra to get more of the stock.

AT those prices, ocuk must be pretty confident they have the first cards in the country. It makes me wish i had more money than sense (thank **** i dont) Dont know who normally buys stuff on here, no matter what the cost, but i bet even some of them are put off right now.

Going by these prices and the $599 for the 4870X2 and the $399 for the 4850X2, the 4850X2 will launch at OCUK for about £257.

I suppose if you got a 10% discount code in the mail from ocuk, then the £380 is a more reasonable price, unfortunately, i didnt get one (curse being a loyal customer).

Who got one like? I have spent 1000's with ocuk over the last 4 years and I got squat diddly!

AT least the fleabay has sent me two £10 off vouchers this year.

I wasnt aware that ocuk did 10% off loyal discount code?
I dont think they do?

And they're still less than the £460 the GTX280 debuted at.

They are still less than half the GTX280s out there. And seeing as they are already listed for 30-40 quid less (albeit out of stock) I can see once stock starts flowing into the channel they will drop close to the price of 2 4870's or less (circa £300 probably)

Indeed. You'd be a fool to buy one at the launch price... But I'm sure in the past many of us have fallen into that trap :)
