Bought one second-hand from the MM here, but the system I have put it into now wont boot (did with previous PSU).

It seems it isn't supplying power at all, as all I get is a tiny spin from the CPU fan and then nothing.

I want to test conclusively before getting in touch with the guy I bought it from - can anyone remember the trick for which wires to short in order to see if a PSU works? I figure if i connect just a molex fan then kick-start the PSU by shorting the right wires i'll know if it works or not...

Cheers,

M

If you connect the black and green wire then it should power up best trying it with a paper clip or summit like that

i dont rememeber what the phantom was based off of, but some of the old revision true power and true control psu's were incompatible with newer (amd64 / c2d) motherboards for some reason, i have an old truepower 550 it just refuses to power up with any 939/am2 board i got but is happy as pie with soa boards

worth looking into perhaps
