Hand tattoos when working in IT

^

I once knew someone who was going to get "love" and "hate" done on each knuckle... When he was having it done he chickened out at the last minute so now on his knuckles it says "love" and "hat"

:D

I thought you were an expert on the place? You gave me that impression. (along with the impression that you're extremely stupid, ignorant and a waste of skin)

I must be at least half right, I mean, there is a tit that lives there yeh... ^. Even if you don't have tats. And if you do have tats im 100% right!!! woo win.

Your razor sharp wit has got the better of me, I couldn't possibly hold my own against someone with an extra 21st chromasome so I'm off to bed. :)

Ner not really. I love tats but when I see people with them, well I assume they're a 'bit rough'. Just how it is with me and most people :).

Unless you have tats yourself...

Nice to know that you see me as your bit of 'rough'. ;)

Also surprised at how long it took the plebs to latch on to this thread...

It's not like that with most people. I work in a very much customer facing job, working one to one with all sorts of people, from children to elderly people, just me and them, and I have two tattoos on one forearm, and the other forearm is covered in ink from the wrist up.

I've never had a negative comment about my tattoos, and customers regularly specifically request me.

Are these customers large, hairy men and do they refer to you as 'bearcub'?

For what it's worth, and i hate to play devils advocate but, if i wandered into a company and wanted to talk about lots of money's worth of support in IT, i'd rather go to the guy with the tattoo and piercings than the guy with the big silver and blue breitling, gelled combed back hair, and the overall air of a smarmy git.

Of course, these are two extremes... but i thought i'd throw them out there.

Fact is most people see tattoos and turn their noses up. To be honest anything out of the ordinary seems to rile IT people not just tattoos; loud shirts, strange choice of car, wrong colour desk tidy. I'm fed up with it and I've got no tats so I've resigned :)
