Alternative to war on terrorism

Random thought.

What would be the outcome if the US/UK were to ban all entrants into the country who were from "high risk of terrorist countries"?

(Prior the "war on terror").

Sure would have saved a lot of lives, time, money.

I know this would be "politically incorrect" but what would the "people" think about this?

unless of course you meant people of foreign descent, but obviously that means pretty much the whole country, french(normans), scandinavian(vikings), italians(romans) so it's probably not too advisable

For this reason alone, it would not make any difference. Anyway, Europe would not allow it. Plus, they are here already, and we cannot police our borders 24/7. Its so easy to just stow away on a ship and jump off as it reaches port.

Even if they did manage plan to jump off a ship and all swim to land and set up in a country were they are banned... it's going to make things a lot more difficult. No way to get a job, any money etc?

The problem tends to be domestic terrorism is carried out by citizens of the particular country, In most cases anyhow

You're saying there is a threat from terrorists who's nationality is "British".

I'm saying, how does going to war with Afgahnistan to combat terrorists combat this threat any more than the method I specified in my OP.


I'm not trying to defend this "method" by the way, it's just a thought I had and I'm interested to know why it wouldn't or would work.

Yet again, here is someone who doesn't actually understand what the underlying problem is, and instead concentrates on the symptoms of the problem rather than the cause...what do you think wholescale deportation will do to terrorism? Will it really reduce it? Or would it drive a wedge further and deeper between the different cultures on the planet?

Wholesale deportation would harm this economy beyond repair, the same for any developed economy worldwide, there is a reason why the government let people in from other less well off countries

Oh sorry, a very poor council area populated by non whites is what Leeds is yes of course.
