Heavy Rain apparently!

Am I the only one who is getting sick of these warnings being sprout out by the BBC Weather team lately? Gee, a little bit of rain and we get weather warnings. Argh!

They didn't declare a state of emergency or some kind of apocalyptic scenario... they have just said its going to rain, which is a warning.

To be fair I think the problem they're having is that as our climate changes (and it certainly seems to have changed in my lifetime) severe local conditions are becoming more frequent. So as soon as they see a chance of more flooding, they put out a warning which has to be fairly general... a weather system's only got to sneeze and it can piddle on someone else's parade rather than the predicted target.

It must be a really tricky time to be in the forecasting business. Not that it's ever simple.

I think most people would much rather they got too many warnings than too few. Anyone remember Michael Fish?

Of course, if they overdo it, no-one will believe them, so it's a balance.

I can never rely on weather reports really anymore.

I just look out of the window and hope for the best in this country ><
Thats what I do lol, but there's a hottie female forecaster on the BBC News at around 06:15 so I always pay attention :D I just look out the window now.
