How Cheap Is This BMW!

They do - which to be honest is a lot of the problem. The 7 Series is the 'Sporty' large saloon, it handles better than the rest of the class which is a problem really becuase your typical brand new huge luxobarge buyer doesn't want a 'sporty' handling car with firm suspension. They wish to be cossetted down the Motorway in luxury.

This coupled with challenging looks spelt doom for the E65, really.

I think IMHO, the E65 is rather like Marmite though. Either love it or hate it.

Personally, I think they look good, especially when tweaked a little with say.....Alpina alloys.

What's your opinion on the 7 series Fox?. Yeah or nay?.

I actually really rather like the facelift model. It looks like a big, more modern E39 in places.

I dont know if I'd ever buy one as I'd find it difficult to ignore the S Class but.. I like them.

The 7 series is possibly the worst looking car BMW have ever produced. It is truely awful.

I guess I'm in the minority then.

There was a 745i on Pistonheads recently that had a full Alpina B7 makeover on it.

It looked awesome.

Again, me is in the minority on looks here, innit?. :D

Let us all know how you get on :)

Didn't get a chance last night - work took over. I will be down near reading this evening though and will definitely go and have a quick look - not that i expect to see much as they will no doubt be shut.

Here are my pics from Yesterday, pretty much as i rememeber, but he seems to have much less stock then when i was last there :)

I got SOAKED in the 5 minutes it took for me to have a wander around and take some pics.

The M3 Evo, and the Jags looks VERY nice :D

I like the look of that S500. Would look good with all my AMG bits swapped over to it. Any idea what time he closes?

Well, I went down to this place earlier this afternoon to check it out.

It seems completely legit TBH. They're just one of those outfits that ship stuff in and ship it out quick (or that's their intention) with zero/minimal customer support post sale.

Basically, it seems that they want you buy the car 'as it is', hence the low prices. The one thing that seemed to connect most of the cars is that none of them are what you'd call 'Grade A' examples. Most of them didn't have a service history, others were marked, some with bits missing, some in bad condition etc.

For example, there was an Alfa Romeo that wouldn't shift into 1st or reverse, had an engine that had bottom end knocking (though at the time of this post there's some idiot on Ebay who's just bid £2,000 for the car, even though with those faults its probably worth no more than £500). There was a Golf GT that had no history, but was otherwise unmarked and the engine sounded pretty sweet and probably would have been a good buy for £5k. There was also a '03 A4 TDi 130 with the sports kit which looked in superb condition as well as a whole raft of faded 'luxo barges' and other bangers. Some good prices there though.

It seems that they have quite a few people on Ebay bidding on their cars but not following through with the transaction for whatever reason.

Overall, it seems like a straight up place provided you're prepared to take any car you buy as you find it, correct any faults yourself and not expect any after sales / warranty etc. Bit like an auction really.....

You've changed your tune. Any sane person could have reached the conclusions you have by just reading the auction listings.

I wonder which car there would be the biggest potential money pit. I'd say that M3 Evo.

Veeeeery dodgy!

I had a nose this evening at his yard, same conclusions as above really. Its a no frills take it as you see it place full of random auction purposes. I may even have a nose next time i am in the market for a cheapish car, as i am fairly mechanically minded and dont mind a car which is slightly rough around the edges if the price is right.
