It takes around a minute from the time i turn my pc on till it gets into windows which i know isnt right for my system.

It takes about 20-30 seconds to get to windows loading screen as bios takes a while and then it detects my drives which takes another 8 seconds or so.

Systems specs are:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)
GeForce 9800 GX2 1024MB GDDR3
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DHX PC2-6400C4DHX TwinX (2x1GB)
150GB Western Digital 10000RPM 16MB Cache Raptor X
200GB SATA 150 Maxtor 8MB Cache Hard Drive
Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
Coolermaster Real Power 700w Modular

Surely something isnt right..

I've updated my bios to the latest version.

Please help, thanks.

Chris

It's not that bad. When you said slow boot up i was expecting 5 minutes or more. It's probably all the crap from Windows loading. yo can speed up the bios bit by turning off everything you don't need such as Boot up floppy seek, sata, ide and floppy drives that you have'nt installed, Full and part screen logo's to disable, quick boot to enable etc. You can also disable many, many Windows services that you will probably never need. I have 7 services running on my gaming pc and 15 on my internet pc. Both boot quickly.
