So what book are you reading?

I'm trying to give Revelation Space by Alistar Reynolds a go, but so far i'm not enjoying it!

Stick with it, it gets a lot better as it goes on. Once you start to see what's happening overall it gets really good. Redemption Ark is awsome too if you get through Relevlation Space.

Currently: Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman - Haruki Murakami

I recently bought Atlas Shrugged after reading about it being one of the longest ever written, and I've also got some Proust that I bought at the same time, again for being extremely long books.

How are you finding it? You read any other Murakami books? I've read After Dark, Norwegian Wood, and Sputnik Sweetheart. Blind Willlow is on my to read list like all of his other stuff! He's an awesome author.

I'm currently reading 1984 (stumbled across a copy of it in an Oxfam bookshop, and thought why not!)....it really worries me as I read it, it's almost a horror book, because it's so believable that it could happen at some point in the near future....

Also reading Aristotle - The Nicomachean Ethics ..... did a module on it at university but have never read it in its entirety, so doing that right now...

Currently finishing Slash Autobio, also reading Watchmen and just started Line War by Neal Asher(Ian Cormac Series book 5)

I just finished Muscle by Carlton Leach, now am reading Enemy Combatant: The Terrifying True Story of a Briton in Guantanamo by Moazzam Begg

I'm really enjoying it, but it's short stories so that may or may not put you off it. I've read pretty much everything else of his and I'm a massive fan of his work and his life. I'd recommend Dance Dance Dance and Kafka on The Shore, if you want some more murakami to read.

Cool....yea I think Kafka... is the next Murakami I'll read....

Life & Fate - Vassily Grossman

next is, The Whisperers - Orlando Figes

Going through a mass of late Russian history that spellbindingly addictive.

Like some of the posters here I’m in agreement with the distinct lack of decent reading material available at the moment. As a result I ended up reading a mates copy of - On the Edge last week. It's not typical of my reading material however it is surprisingly well written and an enjoyable read.

Currently working my way through Dan Abnett's WH40k books (Eisenhorn collection, Gaunt's Ghosts collection etc), and to fulfil my love for pulpy trashy enjoyable quickies, the Anita Blake series by Laurel K Hamilton - brilliant underrated fun books.
