I cringe at the thought of the tongue lashing I might get for the following questions:

1. Do LCDs and Plasmas both cope with NTSC and PAL signals? So if I put a Region 1 DVD will it play?

2. What is better for movies and TV, LCD or Plasma. Can someone recommend some 42 inch + models

3. I want to buy a smallish TV for use with a Wii and a PC as well, say 32-37 inches. Is an LCD a better choice?

As long as your DVD player can read the disc your TV will display it ok.

For movies and TV Plasma is generally the best choice. Especially for screens 42 inches or bigger... There are some good LCDs out there thnough so it is worth checking out both. As for models, what is your budget?

LCD is probably a better choice for gaming and PC in that size range. It may be worth looking at 1080p models if you will be using it with a PC.

1: yes

2: plasma IMO, I went from a leading LCD to a leading plasma and the difference was staggering. Get a pioneer if money isn't a problem, otherwise any of the new pannasonic plasma's are stunning.

3:if it's just for gaming then yes.

up to £1500

Is that just for the 42" one for watching TV, or for both TVs?

If you want to spend that on the 42" then see if you can get hold of a Pioneer PDP-428XD or PDP-4280XD. They are difficult to get hold of as they aren't made any more (Pioneer stopped making 42" screens) but they are the bets you can get in that size and within your budget.

Yes, £1500 just on the 42 is OK.

What you think of the Panasonics as I can't find those Pioneer models. Wouldn't mind slightly bigger Pioneers in that price range either.
