Yup. I've seen a Freecom salesman deliberately drop one from about 1m. Several times. It still worked perfectly afterwards. Obviously this isn't in any way scientific and there was no comparison against an unprotected drive (I dropped my old laptop down an escalator inside a laptop bag and that was fine, but the bag would have protected it). I wouldn't recommend deliberately doing this test yourself, but it did demonstrate the point.

Just spent £240 for a mate on a new mobo, cpu, ram and psu.

Was going to add some stuff for myself but decided against it.

Not delivered until Monday but it's FREEEEEE :D
 
I'm deffo getting a new graphics card with this deal, will need to do a bit of research and get paid first.
