I got a Ps3 40gb model with GTA4, MTG and motorstorm brand new about 5 weeks ago as I thought it would be amazing.

But to honest. I was not that impressed. Maybe cos I was playing on a CRT 28" TV I dont know.
Anyhow I really thought the PS3 was going to blow my socks off but it never did.

yes the wireless streaming from my pc was good, some game play was fun. But for the money £300 I wasnt impressed.

So now have to sell the damn thing.

Playing an HD console without an HD TV isnt going to look amazing :) Its a bit like buying a Ferrari and keeping it in 1st gear, but hey if dont enjoy it sell it. Try some of the PSN games, they are not so dependent on HD visuals, games such as Pixel Junk monsters/Eden, SuperStardust HD (lol), Flow, the bowling game and pain are good fun and are not that expensive. If you could afford it an HD TV is probably a worthwhile investment before you sell it just to see if it looks better. Also you have to try Uncharted before you sell it, one of my favorite PS3 games and a lot of fun.

SuperStardust HD (lol)

Dude, i've tried playing that without a HDTV, it's impossible, you can't see the little fragments of asteroids at all! D:

One of the possible reasons you're unimpressed is because those games aren't that great (imo GTA4 is rubbish), maybe pick up drakes fortune for £15 and give it a go? Fantastic title and might win you back over to the PS3.

I'm also bored with my PS3, but I can't get rid of it as it looks too cool next to my TV, also to be fair it's an awesome DVD player, I stopped using my PC for DVD's when I got mine. (well excluding ones from other regions)

Things will look up this year though with Little Big Planet and Resistance 2, which I'm hoping is going to be considerably better than the first.

There was a time when i was bored of my gamecube due to there being absolutely no games for it when it was first released. Thank god i held onto it, we all know how great the games lineup became after a while.

Selling consoles is always a bad idea, you just lose money in the transaction and you'll inevitably end up buying it again eventually.

I had a Gamecube and I think I played it for about a month then I just put it under my bed for over a year, Resident Evil 4 was okay, but I thought it was vastly overrated, back under the bed. :o

Twin Snakes was my favourite GC game. ;)

I gotta agree here, as soon as you sell the console you will just be like omg "insert game here" just came out and i really want to play that; a few weeks laters OMG "insert second game here" just came out and i wanted that as well why oh why did i sell it :(

You can't really blame the PS3 for your mistake in game selection :p
GTA4's and Motorstorm's graphics are pretty, but I (among quite a few others) didn't like the gameplay all that much.

I am in the process of writing it up or Ebay now. I'm 37 so im not that bothered about it to be honest.

it was ok. Perhaps I am too old nowadays.

yeah i could not use a ps3 on a sdtv
i dont really want a hdtv either so had to get the hd fury which is a bit much that i would like to pay for vga but means i enjoy the games a lot more

Playing current gen consoles on a SDTV is a waste of money. If you're going to invest so much money into a console, you might aswell get a HD TV set. I'd keep your PS3 and save up for a 720p/1080p set... or sell it and put them money towards your morgage.
