I have a job interview on the 18th and they require my birth certificate and proof of national insurance number.

Last year at some point, i lost my wallet with my cards and NI card in and haven't ever bothered getting a replacement due to the fact only one replacement is allowed.

Is there anything i can do about the NI card?

I have the number, just no concrete proof, no passport, wage slip etc.

A replacement card will take approx 20 days to arrive too.

Any advice is appreciated!

If they like you and want to offer you the job i'm sure they'll turn a blind eye until you can show them your replacement card when you recieve it.

Why do people carry their NI card around intheir wallet?...I have never understood this.

When you get your new one store it away safely with you passport.

Went down to the Job Centre, they gave me this number to call.

0845 915 7006

They will send a form which'll take approx 10-15 days to arrive.

Simply fill it out and send it off.
