My VX220 Supercharger Conversion

Won't be a turbo, will be a supercharger. Up until today I was looking at that as a long term option, but a few things have changed and final price dependant I will be strapping on a supercharger.

Sounds brilliant, what sort of specs, power etc should this put out?

It will be staged, but the final level, assuming I don't swap the engine or faff around with internals will be approx 250bhp and about 230lb/ft. Weighing in at approx 800kg. So ~312bhp/ton.

Is this the supercharge off the 2.4 that courtney has redevolped to fit the 2.2?

Or you doing it yourself.

Whichever one it sounds interesting!

Thats some ego you've got there thinking your project is so special everyone will wait with baited breath whilst you keep it all a huge secret :p

Tell us about it WHEN it is done. I read too many pipedreams on the net - I'm confident yours won't be though :)

These type of threads need pictures of shiny bits of automotive porn too

Or it's just something I'm getting quite excited about that has come out of the blue today. But which I can't be hugely specific about at the moment because of the way its being done.

The fact is if all goes to plan and the wallet hit is about what I'm thinking it will be then a supercharger will be strapped on, producing the stated power and if given the go ahead, sooner rather than later before the weather gets rubbish.

Though possibly not that actual supercharger if the new Harup one from Autralia costs about the same.

It's capable of 350bhp but I don't think the 2.2 can take more than 250bhp before the internals will start to become externals...

Nah, the swap would be to the 2.0LSJ engine which has the ready made strong internals. Courtenay are planning on doing that in the winter but that's not something for customer cars yet.
