I bought a pair of Shure E2C's from a website and now (within the warranty period) due to an inherent defect the cables have cracked exposing the wire and causing them to malfunction (quite possibly a danger of electric shock tbh), on the manfacturers website it says to send the product back to them in the original packaging, but atm I can't find the original packaging (which had to be destroyed to even open in) is it legally necessary to have to return the item in it's original packaging?
I'm very dissapointed with Shure, selling what are marketed as high quality earphones, with cables that split within a few months during everyday use.
