Seen as Morba brought it up Ill male a comment about blocks and the start.
If you watch Bolt's start in a head on camera view, look at his feet when he sets off. He seems to jump off the blocks, his right foot goes down and his left foot hits the floor at an odd angle at nearly the same time and then he flys off. I've never seen anyone do that so it looks like he doesn't even get a perfect start or regular start and he could have got a faster time.
If this guy is clean (I hope he is) and actually bothers to run the fastest he can its going to be insane. I don't think even Gay on über 'roids could catch him.
He said that he felt he could get a WR after he done the semi. He didn't even try for squat in the semis so I think even over the first 80 in the final he was trying his hardet, seen as he felt he could win and get the WR after the semi with the run he did.

Yeh, he is a slow starter, can see it in all his starts. makes the 50m when he gets up even more spectacular

No different to many other disciplines to be honest.
He did 19.67 with a .5 head wind in July.
If you take todays time, factor in the fact there was no wind and that he wasnt really trying I think he could easily wreak Johnson's record.

The 2nd 100m is faster than the first, or at least that is how johnson set the 19.32s. However i doubt that Bolt will do anything like 9.7 over the first 100m as he will probably fade on the straight.

What happened with Christie? I heard he'd been tested positive for some drug or other (THG?) but didn't think anything had been proven. Is he "legally" clean but actually a bit tainted now?

Yes, but there has to be a limit at some point, or eventually we'll be running the 100m in 2 seconds.
As for Bolt, yes I think he's clean, mainly because I think the Jamaican "laid-back" attitude is the very antithesis of the "win at all costs" culture of larger countries like the USA and China which, IMHO, fuels the taking of banned substances to achieve that goal.
