Other then the olympic athletes does china have any sort of reasonable black population?

It just struck me that I cant imagine black people living in china

There are quite a lot of african population in China, mostly in China for study and some for business.

Probably less than UK/USA because they didn't have as strong a slave trade as we did. (least not from Africa)

Yup, also they've been banned from going to certain (maybe all) bars along with Mongolians for the duration of the Olympics.

There are a small number of black people in the bigger cities like Shanghai or Xi'an but very few apart from this. Even in downtown Shanghai, the black American girl I was with would always get stared at (in a curious, not a bad way). Out in the sticks in Sichuan near Tibet, she got a lot of attention from curious locals who wanted to touch her skin etc.

Yes, they are few and far between though (the Chinese didn't take hundreds of thousands in for slavery), and are marginalized in some parts of China.

yes you do, ive seen them in vietnam, left overs from GI's in vietnam war, i know vietnamese arent chinese

What do you mean? Do you mean, are there native black people in China, or just black people living there? If its the former, no, if its the latter, yes.
