Hi all,

I seem to experience issues when using my Pioneer DEH55BT when using data cd's burnt using the windows wizard? Does anyone have a similar experience - I am just going to get some new software to see if that cures it but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had any problems?

Cheers

Try burning them at a slower speed and see if that works. Windows wizzard and auto speed can cause problems, expecially if the CDs are not your usual high speed rate. Just set it to something low (2x/4x) and see if that works out.

What issues are you having with it exactly?

The unit takes the cd, tries to read the data and displays an error code, some MP3 CD's seem to work with it though, v strange - just going to have a go on nero at a slower speed as mentioned and see what happens...

Could be the discs if they're cheapo unbranded ones? I never used to have any issues with mine, but I have with other devices not liking cheap discs.

Is it Windows XP or Vista, as Vistas burning wizard gives an option for filesystem type. One type only works with Windows, and the other is readable by anything.
If it is XP, then as others have said check burning speed and media quality.

You have to "master" the disc after burning. vista gives you the option whilst XP burns *** disc in packet mode meaning it's unclosed until you close the session. not all MP3 players will be able to read an unclosed disc.

I had a 55BT and found an issue with infiniti disks and certain dyes. I found an old stock of 16x traxdata which worked a treat, also the TDK ones worked.
