What Uni are you going to?

If yo';re dislexic yes.

Hahaha. Simple thing like that make me laugh. Makes me wonder whether i should really be going to uni or not lol. I'll be lookin out for you in any case Tefal. Even though I don't know what you look like or what your real name is :)

And you guys have convinced me to go on fresher's week now, though it didn't take much after paintballing and go karting was mentioned. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things.

Anybody got any idea on what kinds of activities go on at Manchester Uni's fresher's week? And it's not that I'm tight or anythin (heck I get all my lovely grants and loans and other free money that isn't really mine on 22/09 anyway), are these activities like discounted or even free? I remember the thing that usually puts me off fun things like go karting is the part where you have to pay 40 quid for just half an hour on the track :o

Yay, just finished at York and absolutely loved it-wish I was going back. May do a masters...

Didn't know there were any others to me and Gumbald who were at York. (Think he has left now though).

I'm changing courses to Management, so I'll be a fresher again.

I get windows vista 32/64 business and XP pro free from MSDNAA :)

We got a copy of Vista Business also.

There is plenty of free and subsidised stuff but the majority of the "activity" type things are organised by societies, whatever your interest there's probably a society for it, it may not be a great society so I'd join a few and see which offers the most interesting things for you. The official union "freshers week" consists of a few organised nights out and a big freshers party at the end of the week, by all means consider it but I'd make the most of trying different things with your new flatmates/anyone else you meet in your first few days.

Not much info on there yet other than a facebook group, but I imagine those two will be your best sources for information on the official goings on

Thanks for the info Abraham, I'll give it a look over. Seems they do have a lot planned for that week.

So do we get any of this info like posted to us or anything, or is it just a case of using common sense to find it?

Edit: I apologise for all the questions I seem to be asking. I just don't like going into a situation with little or no prior information about it.

You will get some in the bumph that's posted to you, you'll also get some paper info and a free usb pen that has useful stuff on half of the space when you get your keys for your hall, and beyond that just get yourself to the union on oxford road or to the freshers fairs at the dates on that facebook group
