3D Realms officially announced today Duke Nukem 3D for Xbox Live Arcade.

We're very pleased to announce that "Duke Nukem 3D for Xbox LIVE Arcade" will be coming to your Xbox 360 console soon!

As has been reported around the net today, we can confirm that the game has indeed passed final certification with Microsoft on Friday the 15th of August (on our first try, no less). That means the game is done - it is now in the hands of Microsoft. At this time we cannot give you details on release date or points cost, as we do not have that information. There's plenty of really cool stuff in this new update to a classic title. While we're not quite ready to divulge everything yet, we can tell you this.

Set sometime in the early 21st century, Duke Nukem 3D begins in a ravaged LA, which was overtaken by aliens. Duke, upon returning to Earth, finds himself with another mess to clean up, and another alien race that needs exterminating. Duke is a can-do hero who realizes that sometimes innocent people have to die in order to save Earth, so accuracy of gun fire is not a real concern to him.

They haven't given a release date yet but since the game is completed and passed certification it should be released soon.

Loved playing this game as a kid, can't wait to play it again. :)
 
One word... Awesome. :cool:

So many fond memories of playing this game. The best being the ability to use a urinal. :p I can't wait for this. :cool:
 
I was playing the up to date HD version of Duke the other day, its still pretty class and actually looks half decent at 1920x1200, im assuming the 360 one will look the same.

Multiplayer should be good, hopefully it will support at least 8 folk for some good deathmatches.

Awesome. Funnily enough I was watching some speed runs of this game the other day, brought back some memories.

I think i had the N64 version also which didn't have the boobage. That sucked.

Duke nukem was a classic not sure how well it will stand up now but it was always a lot of fun.
 
I really can't wait for this :) I remember when i had my old P166 with 16mb RAM my friend came round and installed Duke 3D for me and i was blown away, the fact i could play a fps with swearing and boobage was amazing lol :p
 
I hope the 4th episode is in as that was my favorite. Duke Burger and the Theme Park levels were brilliant!

EDIT: Yes the 4th episode is there :D

Hmm actually nope I was mistaken. I just checked the back of my Duke 3D poster (Which came with the N64 version, still have it :D) and it seems the shrinker was in all versions.

The grenade launcher, plasma cannon, expander and sub machine gun were exclusive to the N64 version,

The Ripper chaingun, devastator and freeze thrower were exclusive to the PS version.
