Anyway of covering 200M with wifi?

My bro lives about 200meters from my house but as it's a private road he can't get broadband installed.

Is there anyway we could both have some kind of roof mounted hi-gain arial so he can share my broadband connection via wifi? Is this even legal?

Do you have line of sight between the two houses? If so, then it should be pretty straightforward with a directional antenna.

I've done this with a 100m cat5e cable. Worked extremely well

If you can't find a way to do this his only other real option is the USB dongles such as 3 and Voda are offering I guess (If it works abve Dial up speeds in your area that is )

Can't go for cabled as it would be a bit unpracticle to have cables running through public streets!!!

Just use Wok-fi or Cantenna.

Failing that speak to someone that is in the know with electrics and they will tell you how to make a "mini-mast" from a TV Aerial and coax.
