The guy next to him was really pushing it 100% and he was just looking at the screen/board (probably watching the high jump it something lol) in the stadium and jogging yet gaining on the american !

Reason being fairly obvious really, if you get your head kicked in in the semi final it's not exactly safe to be fighting again a couple of days later!
Basically they both tied with the same score. SO a tie break happens where from the judges score cards (this gets confusing), the top score and bottom score are taken away, so that leaves about 4 scores left (on difficulty, performance etc), those scores are then added up - but they equaled the same again, so the the next lowest scores from the judges get wiped away, the 3 remaining scores get added up and the Chinese 12 yr old won by 0.02 or something stupid.
It truly is an awful way to decide a winner and I probably did not explain it very well
I was surprised that there has been no mention of that on our TV.
I did read a bit about her being well under age only nine months ago, officially announced by the Chinese government as 13, yet somehow arriving at the Olympics with a valid passport pronouncing her age as 16.
With all the other stuff China has been faking during these Olympics, what are the chances this will be found out for sure later, and the medals re distributed.

It's how the British have always run 400m, at a very even pace.
Because it is in the gymnastics where it is mainly USA vs. China there has been loads of info about it over here. Apparently she is 14 and there is loads of evidence to support this, however it has been re-checked and verified by all the governing bodies - but all they need to see is the girls passport. Hmmm a country hell bent on winning the Olympics in their home country could not possibly hand out a fraudulent Passport??
She looks no older than 13 max!

must say the british are doing us proud out there, we always seem to epic fail at the olympics but hopefully this is a taste of what is to come in future years

I was hoping for someone to come out with more about it when she pushed Beth Tweddle down to fourth in the 'A' Bars final, Beth had been touted as a medalist over here, and everyone seemed surprised with the scoring in that event in particular, but no mention of the fact the winner is too young to compete.
