Hey, Im 20, Will be 21 next month, I currently have no, No claims bonuses, But have been driving for 2 years as a named driver, I currently have a suzuki alto due to financial reasons.

I wanted to ask, How much of a difference does insurance make at the age of 21?

I've been hearing mixed opinions on this. Thanks in advance, Oh yea, Anyone have a insurer that is good and also gives quick no claims bonuses or something like that.

None to little.

To most people it seems to make quite a large difference.

Between the ages of about 19-25 your insurance will drop quite a lot with each passing year/NCB+1, compared to, say, your insurance would between 29-35.

At 21 your compulsory excess should also drop from about £350 to £250 (or £150 i can't remember which), in the event of an accident.

The amount your insurance drops will be individual to each person and their circumstances, so if you want an accurate prediction, run a few insurance quotes with you as one year older.

If you want to build NCB consider a 10 month bonus accelerator policy. I am on one of these after writing off my old car, with Bell, and have been very happy with it.

Can't see there being much of a difference between 20 and 21 with no no-claims.

Well, It's certanily the case, At 21 i see my premiums drop nearly 30% to 40%.

This will help, Only 30 days to go though :/

I plan on making my dad the additional driver and myself the main policy holder, So i can build that flaming no claims bonus, It sucks when you don't have none.

Phone your current insurers and ask if they will consider your claim-free driving record? I know the company i work are starting to go into insurance and are taking this sort of thing on board.
