Best CPU waterblock?

Isn't the Cuplex XT Di 775 G1/4 the better water block with the right pump.

It proberbly wouldn't perform any better than the GTZ or Supreme if they all used the same powerful pump, I'm not sure though, but I've never seen any tests that show the cuplex performing better than those blocks with a powerful pump. There's nothing much between the blocks anyway, they're all basically on a par (fuzion, gtz, cuplex di, supreme) with less than a degrees difference between them, you're best off getting the one you like the looks of most.

Oh well if there isn't a great deal of difference, the prettiest one has to be the Cuplex one in my humble opinion:cool:.

Are two pumps in series dangerous... or can it ever become dangerous with pumping the liquid too fast? Sorry for the n00b question. lol

But what are the benefits? Surely your limited by the barb size as it will restrict the flow no matter how fast/hard you pump the water? :o

desirable actually, if one pump fails you're still golden.

overkill for most setups though, if you didn't have a couple or more radiators and extremely restrictive blocks you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference in temps from one pump.

as far as cpu blocks ....depends what is flavour of tehe month from the overexcitable noobs @ XS - any top end block does a great job so pick the cheapest.

What pump would be suitable then please?

Eheim 1250 is what I'm using, but it's mains powered, so it's not for everyone. The Iwaki mentioned above is even more mental, but I seem to remember they were noisy, hence I didn't go down that route.

I definitely agree that the Cuplex is the best looking block on the market.

I'd rather have something wired up to the psu lack of confidence on my part, so to pumps would be safe then?

If you use an 18W DDC or a D5 you'll get results almost as good as anything else, but if you want a really oomphy pump, you're really looking at a 240V mains powered one.

I Would be cooling 4 things and using one triple rad and one double rad. Thinking about it i could have a dedicated pump for each radiator.

would using two D5's make a difference?

Yes, and no. As has been said by myself and several others, the differences between blocks are very small. The benefit you'd gain by having plenty of head on the pump with the Cuplex is maybe 2C, so if the single D5/Cuplex system did 30C, the Iwaki/Cuplex System would do 28C, but the FuZion/Edge/Supreme would all do 29C with the single D5, so the question you have to ask yourself is "is it worth £50 to drop 1C?". And most people decide that it's not.
