Cars that arn't mainstream beatiful.

I used to like the styling of the Capri until I realised that it was a pale shadow of the styling of yank and Aussie cars, kind of a "dreary", "sensible" British version of:

To go with our grey skies, I suppose.

Now I quite like the looks but I know a lot hate it :)

Coupe mondeo with all the bad points and few of the good ones; if you can bare the extra cost on things like tyres and like the look, good on you, however.

Lada Riva - I think they look awesome!

I saw one up for sale in white for £600 I looked at it every time I went past :( I just wish I brought it

Another underrated car. Twin wishbone front end (same as an MX-5) and a properly-located live axle. Rallied to much success on the continent and basically a Fiat in all but name.

The roadster is total fail compared to the coupe when it comes to looks...

Just a shame that is ruined by the side reflectors american safety people demand are put on cars. Otherwise that is perfect. Good Colour, great alloys.

Have to agree. The above posted roadster does look especially nice though, is that an original front bumper/spoiler thing on the roadster?

Yea - it has the BMW Aerokit. This is the back (Picture taken in the lovely New Forest for those who care):

Although I like the way the Coupe looks I don't think I really understand why you'd chose it over a Roadster. The Z4 is a bit annoying with the roof up - it's loud, noisy, unrefined. It's designed to be a fun to chuck about Roadster. The roof is something which is simply there to stop you getting wet. Not being able to take the roof off would totally suck, I'd rather have a 3 Series Coupe if I wanted a Coupe.

The roof is the whole point in the car.

You should take a spin in a coupe. The roof is not the whole point of the Z4. The looks, the sound, the driving position, the handling, the way it drives. The looks of the Coupe alone far outweigh the need for a rag top.

A 3 series doesn't even come close.

I should take a spin in a Coupe, you are right. But the looks, the sound, the driving position, the way it drives, etc etc all present in the Roadster. Infact even more so - you are unfortnately unable to hit 6000rpm+ through a tunnel of tree boughs with the roof down and listen to that noise :D

I wonder what the Z4 is built on..

I'll give you all those apart from the looks. Obviously they're subjective but the Coupe looks very different and in my opinion far superior. The roadster is a bit too girly looking. It doesn't have the presence of the Coupe.

Completely irrelevant. In the Z4 you pretty much sit right against the back wheels. The seating position is lower, the roof is lower, the bonnet is longer. Don't tell me that the experience of sitting in and driving each one is the same because they couldn't be any more different!

The coupe also sounds better inside for some reason. Probably to do with resonance or something.

In essence, you buy the roadster if you're willing to sacrifice looks and presence for a removeable roof.
You buy the coupe if you are willing to sacrifice a removeable roof for looks and presence. Oh, the coupe has a massive boot too.

Besides, roadsters are for girls and hairdressers. FACT.
