new build: £500 budget

I need cpu, mobo, ram, psu, gfx,, hard drive, psu,
it needs to fit in verre v770 case, unless another case can be incorporated into budget. will be using vista 64bit but won't really be gaming. don't want to spend more than £500 but can if I must.

Will this do?

You can always downgrade the graphics card if you want to save money, but that one Should hit a balance between price and performance, unless you buy one from the B grade section or the £8 more OCUK 8800GT.

Wow, that graphics card is a bit pricy isn't it?
Its GeForce 9-series therefore new/better features. Performance wise, DDR3 versions have been shown to beat 8600s. Basically the price reflects that its latest tech. But as you say, if OPs needs are basic, then even a 8400 will do :)
 
Definitely don't pay that kind of money for a 6750 CPU when you could get either an 8400 or a Q6600 for similar cash. Also make sure you get either a 320gb, 640gb or 1tb hard drive as these have more dense platters and are therefore faster than 500/750gb drives.
