I'm off to look at a car tomorrow, about 40 miles away.

It'll be my first car, My Dad's gonna run me down, but if I do decide to get it, how would I get it back? Is it possible to get some sort of day insurance?

I'm 20 btw. :)

You can open a new insurance policy straight away on the phone, similarly when I bought my MR2 last week, i just phoned up and got them to change the car on my policy there and then.
Some day insurers wont cover under 21 year olds.

I dont understand

If your going to keep the car for deffonate then just buy the insurance before you pick it up ...

Do it over the phone....or get the Reg, do a quote online and write the ref number down before you go look (if you can get the reg). Then phone them up and take the policy out there and then if you buy the car.

That's the thing, I don't know if i'm definately going to get it yet do I.......

Got a quote reference from Bell which was I was happy with so will write that down just in case.

Will look into the RAC thing too, but i've just rang Norwich Union about their day insurance and it was 21+.

Take mobile phone with you.
Look at car.
If you like the car buy your insurance there and then over the mobile phone.

Get some insurance quotes.

Note the reference number of the best quote.

If you buy the car, phone the insurer, give them the reference number and confirm your details etc and it will start immediately.
