Heres a tip.
Don't take everything literally, I was trying to explain in simple terms for the guy.

Heres a tip.
Don't take everything literally, I was trying to explain in simple terms for the guy.
Look shiny and impress the girlsI have never bothered wasting my time looking at cables like those so please tell me, what do these do that a good UPS doesn't?
Chrissy it was not your comment I was referring too, I also agree £1800 for a cable is a bit bonkers, but if you have a 500k setup then what’s £1800 on a cable.
I got the £300 version which I would not have bought if it was not for the fact i got it in a sale for £120 and could return it if not happy with the improvement.
Of course how silly me of me, its clearly a placebo effect IN A BLIND TEST !!!!
Clearly you all have your opinions already formed and nothing will change these, how dare I post my opinions I deserve to get mocked.
Last time I post on these forums as they are no headfi or avforums.....
educate them
Had my Pioneer PDPLX5090 professionally calibrated by Greyscale Solutions, the guy that came and calibrated it brought a range of cables with him, and I was basically using whatever came free or what I'd bought for pennies off the bay.
I asked if he wanted to use his own HDMI cables for calibration, he said no mine would be fine.
Speaks vloumes to me.
And here is someone not insulting anyone about cables and actually posting what a pr0 has said to them.
I have been guven the same advice and pr0 > hi-fi geek who reads a lot of internet. I used to think the internet taught me all, but honestly the pr0s in the business understand this a lot more than any of us.
Forget silly HDMI and mains cable and instead spend your money on getting your tv ISF calibrated. It's certainly what Im getting done to me 5090 and will produce a massive difference.
Stanleh on avforums there are even more knowledgable people that will put across their points to rubbish the expensive HDMI and mains cable options, we are just far more abrupt on here as it is a chore even trying to explain it.
This isn't a case of disagreeing or opinions, you are out and out plain wrong. Expect the same treatment anywhere that doesn't have sycophantic onanists circle jerking each other to convince themselves they didn't just get fleeced spending hundreds on an HDMI cable.Wow I have never before seen such a openly hostile forum as we have here, disagree with me that’s fine however don't treat people like scum or complete morons just because they disagree with you.
It wasnt always like this.
Its only fairly recently on here you could say all HDMI cables are equal without the majority of forumites starting to foam at the mouth and argue otherwise.
