Your next car

I don't understand why people seem quite positive on the VTI-S yet knock the ZS - I mean its a pretty similar car but with slightly better suspension and a V6!

I know what you mean about old Alfas, I've been looking on the internet at 155s and thinking "you know, I could afford that" despite how much of a timebomb a 10-year-old Alfa would no doubt be.

Nor me - as you said they're both pretty much identical

You can't get a good ZS for £2k though (at least I don't think you can) but you can get a good VTI-S for £2k

Yeah, it wasn't directed at you, but how if you'd said a VTI-S or a ZS you'd have had a bunch of muppets taking the mick.
I think they start at about £2.5k-£3.5k for the V6? Quite tempted by one myself.

Another sunny, possibly the GTI, jsut to keep me going if when I get my car going again when I buy a house out of london in a few years, it doesn't fulfill my desires.

Or just keep my SR going and run it into the ground before getting the R33 or at a push R34 GTR. All of this after I have a mortgage.

No idea, I'm 25 and still live at home:p I probably should sort my own place, rather than pile cash into another car.

I still quite fancy the idea of a focus rs, would be nice coming home to a bit of fun on four wheels from the army.

Not sure yet.. am very happy with my Cooper.. might go for an S JCW once the prices drop in a few years :)

Once my Mondeo gets a bit long in the tooth / lots of repair needing / or it rusts itself to bits I may either go for a Skoda Octavia, or perhaps a bit smaller like a MK2 Ford Focus.

Planning to keep the Skybus for a while yet, but I'm sorely tempted to go with some oldskool Jap metal next. I almost did it this time, but just didn't have the balls to do it and risk getting stuck with something that would be an unreliable money pit.

it looks retro and gorgeous

No, it looks about as attractive as a fresh pile of cat vomit.

Hey, quick question, did you get the emial I sent to you a few days ago?

hey yes sorry, i read it quickly on my way into a meeting and forgot all about it when i came back out :o How about tuesday collection? or wednesday? ill bring it in on Monday as i can park outside the shop and not have to carry it a mile :) So any time after then

I really want a westfield, but it may be time for a pratical 3 series of some kind after I get married, at least until we change the corolla, then a Westie please God!

No worries, I will get it done for wednesday :)

but they were money pits, and hardly paragons of reliability.

Which is exactly why I didn't go down that route again in the end. I don't really understand what point you are trying to make

maybe that it's never seemed to bother you before, so why let it stop you having a driveway full of this kind of win?
