Gibbo vs Yemen!

hahaha what a fight
i go for gibbo due to him not using crappy matx

however its nice to see a good matx rig.. id have gone a diffrent gpu than the 4870x2 due to there heat unless you can get a decent cooler on it in the case?

Its running fine. :)

Been running Crysis on a loop now since 7:30 and its no hotter than in a antec nine hundred.

Yewen - ditch that Zalman for a Scythe Mini-Ninja at the very least, as that'll give you some more cooling, but you should seriously consider moving up to a Lian Li PC-A05 so you can go CrossfireX.

And why no water cooling? 2 or 3 Swiftech 80mm radiators coupled to an ApogeeDrive unit would all fit in fine.

I'll be in on Monday morning to discuss what progress has been made on this...;)

Zalman did not hit the stock level. :o It is by no means the finnished spec.

Water cooling as good as it would be as a one off I do not think it adds enough to this rig when mass produced to make it worth the effort on each build. :(

May add a quad feser rad to the top just for S'N'G once I have all the data I need to put the system for sale on the website. :D

The Sugo will stay as it fits nicely into the future range of systems in development, there will be other fancy rigs coming up!

can I come down to OCUK and play with all your nice computer parts please... :)

that would be pretty much heaven to go round saying "ill have one of these... and one of these"

Ok guys as Gibbo is doing his usual and going for brute power I have gone for the stealth OMG HE DRIVES A SPORTKA aproach.

Here is rig one which is complete and under going massive stability testing. :D

SILVERSTONE SUGO mATX RIG!
Intel E8600 3.33GHz @ 4.50GHz (1.42v)
Zalman 8700 low profile CPU cooler
Asus P5E-VM HDMI Intel G35 Micro-ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Cellshock 6400 2GB (4GB Total) memory 4 sticks @ (roughly)850MHz 5-5-5-15
ATI HD 4870 X2
300GB Velociraptor

At the moment my PC is upto 22,000 3D 2006 but I have the card clocked and Gibbo has not done this yet. That said considering it is a cheaper rig than Gibbo's AND in a micro ATX form factor I do not think I am doing that badly.

Bring on the quad crossfire Phenom rig! ;)

The Sugo is a bad idea as it cannot get rid of the heat from a high end rig. The cooling on them is very poor. We have been trying to help a guy out with one and a terrible heat problem. 105 degrees C on the cpu!! By making some changes he got it down to 50 odd degrees at idle but that is still too high. There are better mATX cases than the Sugo. I would'nt buy one of those rigs and i certainly would'nt be selling one. With that spec it has a high chance of warranty returns due to heat.

It is managing fine now with a couple of small tweaks on the rig I am running. :)

Why do you think we test systems before putting them up for sale. :p

I wonder how soon it will be before we see these systems being offered by overclockers with an approval rating "by the nerds on the tech board who told us what to use". :P
