Why don't modern BMW's have the impact and ability compared to the competition that it had :(

maybe everyone else caught up with bmw, but because bmw were so good, there wasn't really much room for them to improve

the E60 by no means a bad car though, although i haven't driven an E39 for almost 3 years so it's hard to compare a car i drive all the time to distant memories..
plus the E60 is an auto and has comfort seats, so i like it a bit more, although i do miss the TV in the E39, and the fact that when you turned the radio/cd off, it actually turned off, rather than just muting it, oh and i miss the scroll between the vents..

From as far back as I remember

98 Nissan micra
98 Peaugot 406
2000 Golf 1.6
2000 Vauxhall vectra

2002 BMW 318i estate
2003 BMW 325i
2003 BMW M3
2004 BMW 530i
2005 Mercedes C320

Fox's parents had generally good taste in cars. So did my Dad, but he was always skint :D

In roughly the order I remember, some of the years may be a couple out too

1966 Mk1 Ford Cortina Super
1989 Fiat 131 Supermirafiori
1974 Reliant Rialto (don't ask! This one was my Mothers idea)
1980 Toyota Corolla
1989 Ford Sierra
1981 Ford Mustang
1984 Vauxhall Cavalier Estate
1990 Renault 19
1990 Renault 19 (the other one got written off)
1993 Honda Civic LSi

At this point, my parents divorced and went their own ways with cars.

Mum - stayed sensible
1995 Honda Civic LSi
2002 Honda Civic

Dad - went off the rails and became an off roader. He does use them off road though
1989 Lada Niva Cossack
1988 Lada Niva Cossack
Some ancient Landrover he hauled out of a field
1990 Landrover Defender
