Hi all.
Actually bought her 8 weeks ago, 1.8iS in Silver, 106k, hard top, 6 CD changer, full (blue!) leather and FSH. £1900 inc tax, I was fairly pleased tbh.
Few scrapes and the odd bit of rot, nothing major. Also covered in stick-on fake carbon tat which annoyed significantly and has since died the death it deserved.
Now, I should have looked closer at the rears. I saw the car with 4 Avons, I know this. I didn't notice one rear had been swapped in the week between agreeing to buy and actually picking it up for a ditch-finder special. Different treads. I am used to a lairy back end, running a Mk1 MR2 as my daily drive. The wife is not. And went Autograssing. Into a barbed wire fence.
So, all panels scratched, one shock spring broken, I decided that a full spray was required. While we were on, I wanted a different colour and we settled on Winning Blue. Should be either the only one or one of very few Mk1's in that colour as well. And here she is. Apologies for the photos taken when it was overcast, but you get the idea.
VERY pleased with the spray, just the monkeys at the garage have lost the splitter cable that goes to the electric aerial. Grr.
I've treated the seats twice now with leather restorer and they are coming up very well, will need some more work to overcome the previous neglect but I believe it's worth it. As you can see in the pics, I've been cleaning the alloys. Using Carplan Wonder Wheels. WOW!!! Took a miniml amount nd it literally painted on, adgitated and rinsed. What a difference it makes, utterly stunning in my opinion and that was one quick treatment.
She still needs: New rear springs, a front grille, wind deflector, flog the hard top and get a mohair hood with glass window and a full valet!
So, what does everyone reckon?
