Without fertilisation an egg is just a ball of goo or a "chicken period" if you prefer and would never grow into a chick. As far as I'm concerned it is quite distinct from eating meat but that's just where I've drawn my line in the sand, doesn't make it any more correct than anyone else. :)
 
Eating fruit is not a meal, its not even a snack. cant belive your 5st i was 5st in primary school and that was about 15 years ago.

Eggs are produced without the animal dying. For some people, that's a crucial distinction. Same goes for dairy products, for the same reason. They're still classed as vegetarians, although the label is, as you point out, wrong. "lacto-ovo vegetarians", to be precise. It's an inaccurate label, because eggs and dairy product are not vegetarian, but they're not omnivores either. The most accurate label I can come up with is 'necarnivore' (roughly, 'not eater of flesh'), but that isn't going to fly.

Full-blown vegetarians don't eat anything of animal origin, regardless of whether or not the animal was killed to make it.

Vegans don't use anything of animal origin in any way, not just eating. So they won't use anything with any leather part, for example.

Chickens eat their eggs too, it's a food store for them too. When we had chickens they used to go out their way to push eggs onto the floor to crack them open, then they'd sit around drinking the fluids!
 
family wants to throw the mississippi mud pie out, due to the fact that the recipe given on page 1 means that the eggs are raw, also right now I'm being flamed for obtaining a recipe off a forum
