I have a new toy...

Oh I've had all that before with the 200-400. I go out shooting with my friend who I got this 600 from and we are quite used to all that. Another popular one is 'how much that cost then?'

Some people I think don't realise when they see a wildlife photo in a magazine or on a tv programme just how much effort and equipment goes in to it! lol

I've got a hard act to follow now with all the stunners you keep posting! If only I lived near some better locations!! lol

EDIT: Actually, what bag do you use to carry yours around in?

Hehe.. I've found that i've developed an enormously thick skin since owning it.
I even got threatened by a bunch of chavs yesterday, its a nightmare.. I've learnt to just accept that some people want to cause a fuss, best thing is to keep walking and ignore it LOL.. I never anticipated it to be this bad to be honest.

EDIT: Actually, what bag do you use to carry yours around in?

At the moment I use a Peli hardcase for shifting it around long distances, I normally carry it for miles on my shoulder when using it. I don't currently have a rucksack big enough, but i'm looking to buy a Lowepro Super trekker AW II, which will take my 600 and possibly the 300 at once.
You could look into the Moose Peterson bag, although you'll need to import it. i am told that its one of the best long lens bags.

lol yeah I just learned to ignore it for the most part. Sometimes you get a genuinely interested person but usually its some stupid comment. The funniest thing is when I was in Scotland, at the side of a road just looking through the 200-400, about 15 cars would go past and pull u[ ahead to look out and see what I was looking at (which was nothing lol). Eventually they'd just drive off.

I've looked at the Moose bag before, its nice but I think it will be a bit lopsided/unbalanced. I might try my luck in Miami and see if I can get hold of a 600AW.
