been out of pc gaming for aaaages. ever since i got rid of my 7800GT around halflife 2 era. still havent finished it, so that's on the list (have it through steam along with CS:S)

so far I have this list.

played cod4 on the 360 although want to check it out on the PC.
want to see what the fuss is about crysis
gears of war.
stalker - shadows of chernobyl
UT3
mass effect
the witcher
will check bioshock again i think. only played it once on the 360.
assassins creed
KOTOR 1+2 - never played these before and heard they were good

anything else?

p.s, i plan to try using my 360 controller with pinacles game profiler. tried it in the past with cod4 demo and it worked really well. apart from my 2400XT playing it at around 5fps lol

All those games you listed will work really well on 4850 plus most have native 360 controller support anyway.

Also try:

Devil May Cry4
LEGO Indiana Jones
Lost Planet
The Orange Box

Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Gears Of War, Devil May Cry4, COD4, Lego Indy, Lost Planet, The Orange Box all look much better on thePC vs 360 version and have no screen tearing issues either so you will not be disappointed.

DMC4 is something that i might check out. never played the others though.
i already have portal, HL2 and the episodes in my steam account so that takes care of most of the orange box afaik.

Lost planet - i tried this on the 360 and thought it was awful. Is it any better on the PC?

never liked the lego star wars games so is it worth trying the indy one?

Supreme commander.

heard of this game, might check it out. cheers

Medieval 2: Total war with the stainless steel mod :) You'll need the kingdom expansion pack for the most recent version. Get company of heroes and the expansion too. Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 + 2 are good games also.

didnt like the first R6Vegas on the 360.

what about viking battle for asgard? is that on the PC?

DMC4 is amazing on the PC. Lost Planet is also great (get the Colonies edition as it contains all the 360 content and more plus cross platform play against x360 players for free) and remember now MS have made all Xbox live Gold features free for PC gamers so that any Games For Windows Live title (Like Gears Of War & Lost Planet) will let you enjoy the multiplay for free as well as getting the PC achievements points etc etc.

Lego Indy is a fun platform game and lot to do in it so good value for money.

Great thing about PC gaming is that most of these games are only £17.99 or less and you get the best gfx & sound plus quick loading times so its all good.

need to get back into oblivion as well. had a look at the games for windows site and the upcoming games on there (so much easier playing with a controller). used to be kb+m only, guess being on consoles for the last year and a bit has spoilt me. lol

Don't think that viking is out on the PC, but considering it is one of the most disappointing games that I've ever played you shouldn't worry to much about missing out!

command & conquer? no thanks :) tried the demo of one of them a few months back on live - couldnt stand it for some reason. lol

RivaTuner is an amazing game for the 4850, you'll have great fun figuring out how far you can push it before smoke starts coming out the back of case!:D
