Hi guys. I have the following HTPC spec:

Silverstone LC-17 case
Intel E2200 with a Scythe Mini Ninja attached
ATI 2400XT passive (for HD decoding)
200GB system disk
500GB data disc
DVD drive
Blu-ray/HD-DVD drive
All Sharkoon fans.

Here is the existing setup:

This idles at around 35 degrees, using Orthos and leaving it at 100% CPU usuage for an hour I ended up with a maximum CPU temperature of 51 degrees. This system is however, quite loud.

Here is what I've changed it to:

Doing the same tests, the system idles at the same 35 degrees, with a maximum temperature of 58 degrees.

Now the system is never going to be running at full clip, the most taxing thing it will ever be doing is playing a Blu-ray, which I'm running at the moment with 15% CPU usage and a core temperature of 38 degrees.

My only concern is that without any 'outtake' I've got a lot of air sitting in the case. Is this arrangement safe in the long term? It is still much cooler than my P4 system, which I could fry my dinner on.

Does the PSU have a fan? Temps don't look that high either really, perhaps as a test run the 92 currently as intake as an exhaust instead? Could make a tad of difference, but I'd imagine not loads.

The PSU does have a fan, but this case is odd in that the PSU is put in the wrong way round, so the fan on the bottom of the PSU faces a grille on the side of the case, so it's completely separate to the rest of the machine.
