I am getting confused. You go into some shops and they seem to have endless ranges of designer clothes (i.e levis, fred perry) then when you go onto said designer websites there are hardly any of the clothes that you saw in the shop? I have noticed this especially with "Designer Retail Outlets", are they selling fakes or do the companies just not advistise all of there lines??

its probably because the designers websites only show the absolute newest stock and what you should probably expect to see in some stores soon as it filters in...

with the retail outlets they are probably selling stuff that is seriously old, hence why its so cheap.

Because it is common, designer to me means something exclusive/expensive. I am guessing a polo shirt costs between £25-45 depending on the style.

Depends where you go and so on...the pricing is in the same region as G-Star and Diesel and i think you'd agree they are certainly 'designer'. :)

Retail price is £35+ for a polo shirt, i think. :o

Since when has G-Star or Diesel been designer?

Its yet again just branded clothing that you can pick up from any old shop, TK Maxx has Diesel in for example.

No I wouldn't class either of those two brands designer really - pretty common stuff. Designer to me is more like versace, d&g, great wall of china etc..

Diesel's jeans certainly has designer prices. It is a shame though that they can be found in Tkmaxx for £29.99 which kind of ruins the feeling of having an expensive pair. I know a few Poles who bought them their and claim to have spent £100+ on them to their other friends.

I think you are being snobby to say Diesel isn't a designer brand, but to say its a 'highstreet' designer brand would be fairer.

Id say as much.. I dont wear Diesel stuff like but i still would only class it as high street designer.

I buy River Island, Topman, Burtons, Next for all my main clothes :D and a tiny bit of Primark but only for the odd cheep option, socks, ties etc..

LOL Fred Perry isnt designer.....its chav wear :D

Fred Perry have a 'mod' part and a much cheaper 'chav' part that can be front in JD Sports and so on. Take a look around and you'll see what i mean. :)

As for Diesel and G-Star, judging by threads in the past, the majority of people aren't entirely comfortable spending £80+ on a pair of jeans and just because you can get cheap clothes with designer labels on, it doesn't change the entire brand as a whole.

Only yesterday i saw yet another guy wearing a very ill fitted Armani t-shirt that looked cheap and nasty. :(

In retrospect, Levi aren't designer but certainly 'above' the likes of Topman and Next when it comes to quality etc.

Really gone off Armani over the last couple of years. Really cheapened themselves with the AJ range (what you typically find chavs wearing)

Which is a shame as their Armani Collezioni range is excellent.
