Q9300 new non lapped stock HSF

New CPU in a X48TDQ6 running F5 idle temps are 51/48/55/50 anyone say this is too warm. Case is an old Cooler Master.

Does seem a little warm, are you sure all the pins are pushed in correctly on the heatsink.
 
Yeah the stock HSF is fully seated. Case only has a pair of 60mm in it and the fan in the PSU.

That could be your problem, lack of air flow, can you try running with the side off so the HSF brings in fresh air and re-check your temps see if they have improved, the stock Intel is not that great personaly :)
What speed is the cpu fan running at :)
 
They do seem to run hot these Q9300, I lapped mine, it made a little difference but not much.
Even watercooled they are a little warm.
