If you don't need 1080p then the X series, if you do need 1080p then the Z series. If you need 3 sensibly-placed HDMIs, the better sound and prefer the looks, the 85 series; if not, the 80 series.

Hope that clears things up :D

but the PZ85b has freesat built in, would like the 1080p too. any one like the pz85b without the extra bits that im most likey paying extra for?

Panasonic TH42PZ85B
42" HD Ready Plasma with integrated Freeview

Its odd, one or two sites say it has it, and some say it hasnt! arrghh!!!!

Or am i wrong in thinking freeview is freesat? maybe thast were im going nutz...

Anyway, decided on this, doesnt kill my bank account, and seems to be a fine TV. Cant find a price lower than £900 though for free deliverly included. anyone got a great site witha good deal on it. JL hasnt got any in either :( MS does, but at £999...

Freeview is one thing, Freesat HD is the other.
Sadly we can't reccomend specific shops for you but you say one i would have put forward is out of stock. Are you dead set on 1080?

Well, just need a good screen for about £1000, had more but the cooker blew up so had to buy another one....

The PZ85b seems to tick all the boxes for ports, reviews and good screen. Problem now is finding one from a shop that doesnt seem to want to rip me off with price.

Did you have one in mind?

We can't recommend shops on here :)

Edit: And who needs a cooker :D We've survived without a fridge here for 2 weeks (useless people :/), and real men would microwave their food in sacrifice for audiovisual entertainment :D

I have the 42" PX80. For under £630 it is a bargain and runs 720p perfect.

At the distances I watch it from 1080p is a waste of time.

I bought the PZ85 on Friday past, its awesome.
PQ is stunning on it, even on standard def. broadcasts it looks excellent!

I watched a blu ray last night on it and the panning shots were perfect. I noticed no judder at all. Its a quality set for the money :)

No pics as yet ill get some for tomorrow if needed :)

Its a 42"

*Competitor*, cost was £860

It was the best deal i can find at the time, they also do a 5 year warranty for 10% of the cost.

The admin that decided to blank out my so called competitor needs to do a search on this forum for the same name...

You will find pages of threads listing it, i feel victimized!

:P
